The Department of Provincial Administration has begun assisting millions of welfare recipients in reconfirming their eligibility while helping newly eligible residents register for the 2026 State Welfare Program.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) has instructed district offices nationwide to assist the public with the 2026 State Welfare Registration Program following Cabinet approval of the scheme. The program requires approximately 13.19 million beneficiaries registered under the 2022 State Welfare Program to reconfirm their eligibility through channels designated by the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, authorities will conduct a nationwide effort to identify and register an estimated 1.04 million eligible individuals who do not currently hold a State Welfare Card. The target group was identified through data from the Ministry of Interior’s Basic Minimum Needs database and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s electronic family logbook system. Registration and verification activities will take place from June 4 to 21.

Director-General Narucha Kosacivilize said provincial administrations, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Pattaya City, and local administrative organizations have been instructed to coordinate work to identify eligible residents and assist with registration. District offices nationwide will also establish One Stop Service centers to provide information, identity verification, registration assistance, and guidance on eligibility requirements. Existing beneficiaries can confirm their participation through the Paotang and Tang Rat mobile applications, the State Welfare Registration website, Krung Thai Bank ATMs, or branches of designated state-owned banks. Authorities will also carry out community surveys and local forums to verify information and identify eligible residents who may have been overlooked. The department urged the public to rely on official government information and remain alert to scams related to registration and welfare benefits. (NNT)
