PARIS, France – Minister of Culture Sabeeda Thaised has visited the Fiminco Foundation in Paris to explore creative cultural districts and international artist residency models. On 23 May 2026, the Culture Minister and ministry executives visited the Fiminco Foundation in Romainville, Paris, and held discussions with Foundation Director Katharina Scriba to exchange views on the development of creative spaces and contemporary art ecosystems.

The Thai delegation expressed admiration for the Fiminco Foundation as a successful model for transforming a former industrial complex into the FAST Cultural District — a dynamic creative hub that integrates artistic production, performances, exhibitions, educational activities, and community engagement within a single ecosystem. Thailand showed particular interest in the Foundation’s International Artist Residency Programme as a potential model to support emerging Thai artists through creative spaces, artistic experimentation, and opportunities for international collaboration and networking.

Both sides also exchanged perspectives on expanding public access to art and culture, especially for youth and local communities, through participatory cultural programs and community-based creative activities. The discussions further explored future cooperation between Thailand and France in areas such as artist exchange programs, residency initiatives, and collaborative exhibitions. In addition, the delegation met with representatives of ASIA NOW, an organization dedicated to promoting contemporary Asian art across a wide geographical region stretching from Türkiye to New Zealand. Discussions focused on strengthening international cultural networks and enhancing opportunities for Thai contemporary artists to gain greater visibility on the global stage. The visit reflects Thailand’s commitment to advancing its contemporary arts ecosystem and fostering international cultural cooperation to support Thai artists and creative industries at the international level.
