JAKARTA, Indonesia – Thailand and Indonesia have expanded economic ties through the exchange of four memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and the official approval of the renaming of PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia Tbk during Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s visit to Jakarta. The MOUs cover tourism, trade, carbon markets, and broader economic cooperation. They include agreements between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Traveloka Indonesia, TAT and TransNusa Indonesia, as well as between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia), the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia.
Anutin also witnessed the presentation of the approval certificate for the renaming of Maspion Bank to PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia Tbk, following approval by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) on July 13, 2026. The investment is indicative of confidence in Indonesia’s economic potential while helping to expand the regional presence of Thailand’s financial sector. The two governments affirmed they will continue expanding cooperation in tourism, trade, finance, investment, and other sectors while encouraging closer business ties, greater economic integration, and improved regional connectivity.
