BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to visit Ayutthaya province on July 3 to launch the 30-billion-baht Shared-Interest Loan Program for farmers and review the use of modern agricultural technology. Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said the program offers loans of up to 100,000 baht per borrower, with the government subsidizing 3% of the interest rate, allowing participating farmers to pay 3% annual interest. Covering seven major economic crops, the program also requires participants to complete reskilling and upskilling courses provided by the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) and relevant agencies. During the visit, Anutin will also receive a progress briefing, tour exhibition booths, and observe demonstrations of agricultural drones and drone-assisted fertilizer application.
Following his visit to Ayutthaya, Anutin will return to Bangkok to chair the second Narcotics Control Committee meeting of 2026. The meeting will review progress on the government’s nationwide anti-drug campaign and coordination among relevant agencies. Officials will assess measures covering law enforcement, drug prevention, and rehabilitation services for people affected by drug-related problems, with the goal of improving the effectiveness of the government’s overall response.
