BANGKOK, Thailand – Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Suphamas Isarabhakdi voiced strong concern over recent online livestream content involving sexually explicit material, describing it as unsafe, non-constructive, and harmful to Thai society. Speaking as chair of the Committee of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund during a meeting at Government House in Bangkok, she said the recent incidents circulating on major online platforms over the past few days had caused widespread discomfort and were contrary to the mission of promoting safe and creative media.
She stressed that such content should not be considered acceptable in Thailand’s digital environment, calling it “unsafe and severely uncreative media,” and urged all committee members to urgently explore regulatory and preventive measures. Suphamas also called on online platforms to take greater responsibility for content moderation, saying that current safeguards appear insufficient. She instructed relevant officials to study possible measures and present actionable solutions at the next meeting to prevent similar incidents in the future. The discussion comes amid public concern over a widely circulated explicit livestream on a popular online platform, prompting renewed debate over digital platform accountability and content regulation in Thailand’s online space.
