TAK, Thailand – Thai security forces seized 20,000 liters of diesel and fuel storage equipment from a riverside warehouse in the border district of Mae Sot, Tak province.

Authorities intercepted the fuel which is suspected of being bound for illegal export to a neighboring country —following tip-offs from local residents.

Upon inspection, authorities found a ten-wheel truck loaded with 20,000 liters of diesel fuel. Inside the warehouse, they discovered storage equipment, including two 4,500-liter tanks. The truck driver was detained for interrogation.

The raid comes as Tak province battles severe domestic fuel shortages.

Local gas stations frequently run dry within hours, forcing residents into long traffic-stalling queues.

In response to the crisis, Tak Governor Chusak Ruying has ordered a strict crackdown on all illegal fuel exports along the border. (TNA)
