
BANGKOK, Thailand – Ambassador Chittipat Tongprasroeth met with Frank Hartmann, Director-General for Asia-Pacific at the German Federal Foreign Office, to provide a fact-based update on the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
The Ambassador reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to upholding peace with Cambodia and resolving disputes through existing bilateral mechanisms. He stressed that Thailand was compelled to use military measures to respond to attacks on its civilians and to defend the country’s sovereignty in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
Ambassador Chittipat added that Thailand remains committed to observing the ceasefire agreement and implementing the outcomes of the most recent General Border Committee (GBC) meeting in Kuala Lumpur in good faith. These actions aim to ensure the well-being of the people and achieve sustainable peace. (NNT)
