Thai activists indicted over blocking of Queen’s motorcade

The temporary release followed the indictment of Ekachai Hongkangwan (center), Chanathip Chaichayangkul, Panupat Paikoh, Boonkueanoon Paothong and Suranat Paenprasert for violence against the queen or her liberty under Section 110 of the Criminal Code in relation to their rally close to the queen’s motorcade in Bangkok on Oct 14 last year.

The Criminal Court temporarily released five people indicted for attempted violence against Her Majesty the Queen the queen on bail of 200,000-300,000 baht each.

The temporary release followed the indictment of Ekachai Hongkangwan, Chanathip Chaichayangkul, Panupat Paikoh, Boonkueanoon Paothong and Suranat Paenprasert for violence against the queen or her liberty under Section 110 of the Criminal Code in relation to their rally close to the queen’s motorcade in Bangkok on Oct 14 last year.



They were also charged with an illegal assembly causing disorder and traffic obstruction.

Their lawyer applied for bail. Mr Ekachai and Mr Suranat were released on bail of 300,000 baht each and the other three 200,000 baht each. The court did not set any condition for their release. (TNA)
