BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool visited the “Thailand Biennale Phuket” to see the ongoing contemporary art exhibition and promote art-driven tourism experiences. The event, featuring the works of more than 60 artists from around the world, is being showcased across key locations and communities across Phuket and will run until April 2026.
During the visit to Suuko Spa in Mueang Phuket District, the TAT Governor was welcomed by Phuket Art Association President Anchalee Vanich Thepbutr. The engagement underscores TAT’s commitment to supporting cultural and creative tourism, while reinforcing Phuket’s role as a creative hub that connects tourism with contemporary art on an international level.
This year’s Thailand Biennale presents multidisciplinary works by Thai and international artists, guided by a curatorial vision that reflects Phuket’s identity, way of life, and cultural heritage. The city-wide exhibitions encourage visitors to explore Phuket “through the eyes of artists,” offering new perspectives and enriched travel experiences.
The initiative highlights the value of place-based art in enhancing Thailand’s cultural landscape and diversifying tourism offerings. TAT aims to use creative and artistic activities to promote quality tourism, distribute income to local communities, and support sustainable tourism development.
TAT is confident that Thailand Biennale Phuket will elevate Thailand’s profile as a leading center for contemporary art in Asia and attract global travelers seeking artistic, cultural, and creative experiences. (NNT)
