SUKHOTHAI, Thailand – Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised presided over the opening of “Si Satchanalai Revisited: Thai Textiles, Ancient Silver and Gold Patterns—Preserving Timeless Heritage” at Si Satchanalai Historical Park in Sukhothai province. The annual event, held from December 6-10, 2025, aims to promote the conservation of local culture while advancing Thailand’s Soft Power strategy to generate income and stimulate grassroots economic development in line with government policy.

The event features traditional attire, reenactments of life in Sukhothai-era Thailand, exhibitions of ancient-pattern Thai textiles, local handicrafts, ethnic cultural performances, and OTOP product showcases. These activities support community-based economic development while highlighting Si Satchanalai Historical Park as a major cultural tourism destination.

The Minister emphasized that the event demonstrates how historical roots and local wisdom can be transformed into sustainable economic value—particularly through Thai textiles and unique handicrafts that are central to Si Satchanalai’s identity. She noted that the event is not merely a tourism activity, but a strategic use of Soft Power to drive economic opportunities and preserve cultural heritage for future generations. (NNT)
