Suchart orders MNRE agencies to step up safety and support nationwide for New Year 2026 travel

Deputy Prime Minister and Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchart Chomklin instructs MNRE agencies to strengthen safety measures, deploy personnel and equipment, and enhance emergency preparedness at key tourist destinations and travel routes nationwide during the 2026 New Year holiday.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin has directed all MNRE agencies to strengthen safety measures and ensure public convenience nationwide during the 2026 New Year holiday. The focus is on strict compliance with state duties to support safe travel and tourism.

The ministry has coordinated with relevant agencies to deploy personnel, equipment, and support systems at key land and sea tourist destinations, as well as along transport routes under its responsibility. Service points have been set up in various locations to offer travel assistance, information, and initial support to the public and tourists during the holiday period.



At the same time, safety and emergency preparedness measures have been enhanced. These include ensuring coastal rescue centres are ready, deploying aircraft for search-and-rescue missions, strengthening monitoring and early-warning systems for natural hazards, and increasing patrols in high-risk areas to ensure rapid response during the festive period.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that all agencies must perform their duties diligently and prioritize public safety. These measures are intended to build public confidence during New Year travel and ensure government services operate efficiently and promptly nationwide. (NNT)
