‘Sawasdee Thailand’ wins International Radio Award at Asia Media Summit 2026

“Sawasdee Thailand,” produced by Radio Thailand World Service, won second runner-up in the Best Radio Program category at the 2026 AIBD International Award in the Maldives.

MALDIVES – “Sawasdee Thailand,” an English-language radio program produced by Radio Thailand World Service, the Government Public Relations Department of Thailand (PRD), has received second runner-up in the Best Radio Program category at the AIBD International Award 2026, held during the 21st Asia Media Summit in the Maldives.

PRD Director-General Sudruetai Lertkasem attended the ceremony with her delegation and, in her role as President of the AIBD General Conference, presented awards. The award for Thailand was accepted by Deputy Director-General Suppapong Chaolan on behalf of the organization.



The AIBD International Award recognizes media productions across the Asia-Pacific region for creativity and professional standards. The Best Television Program award went to “Peaceful Vietnamese New Year in Every Home: A Sweet Command from the Hearts of Soldiers” by Voice of Vietnam. In the radio category, first place was awarded to “Life on the Burning Earth—The Vanishing Season” by KBS of the Republic of Korea, while the Excellence in Media Award was presented to Public Service Media Maldives.

“Sawasdee Thailand” presents Thailand’s tourism, culture, and lifestyle through English-language storytelling, featuring content on heritage, natural attractions, and current developments for both domestic and international audiences. The program also provides regular updates on events across the country. “Sawasdee Thailand” airs on NBT’s FM 88 MHz and is available online through the OTT NBT Plus platform. (NNT)
