Royal Thai Navy Commander Admiral Pairoj Fuangchan inspects oarsmen training and preparations at the Royal Barge Division in Bangkok ahead of the upcoming royal barge procession.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Royal Thai Navy Commander Admiral Pairoj Fuangchan has inspected the training of oarsmen and preparations for the upcoming royal barge procession. The procession is scheduled to take place as part of the royal Kathin robe-offering ceremony, marking the 4th cycle (48th) birthday anniversary of Queen Suthida on June 3, 2026. The inspection was conducted at the Royal Barge Division of the Naval Transportation Department in Bangkok’s Bangkok Noi district. The Navy’s preparation plan focuses on personnel readiness, oarsmen training, the repair of royal barges, and pier preparations. The procession will feature a total of 52 royal barges arranged into five rows, spanning 1,200 meters in length and 90 meters in width. A total of 2,200 navy personnel will serve as crew members for the event. (TNA)
