From June 1 to September 30, 2025, all Thai citizens aged 60 and above can enjoy a 50% discount on train fares for a full four months. This discount applies to ordinary trains and third-class seats on every route nationwide, making travel more affordable and accessible for senior citizens.
No complicated registration is needed — just show your ID or any official document proving your age at the ticket counter, and you’ll get the discount immediately. The only exception? Public holidays are excluded.
This initiative highlights how some rare and meaningful opportunities are designed specifically for the Thai people, in this case, to support the elderly — a vital segment of society — encouraging them to travel more, visit family, or simply enjoy activities around the country without financial strain.
