Traffic is expected to be heavy around Ramkhamhaeng Road and nearby routes as Ramkhamhaeng University hosts graduation rehearsals and the royal degree conferral ceremony for nearly 18,000 graduates at the Pho Khun Ramkhamhaeng the Great Auditorium, with the public urged to avoid the area and use public transport.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Ramkhamhaeng University has issued a traffic advisory asking the public to avoid Ramkhamhaeng Road and nearby routes during graduation rehearsals and the royal degree conferral ceremony at the Hua Mak campus. The events will be held at the Pho Khun Ramkhamhaeng the Great Auditorium.

Full rehearsals for graduates of academic year 2023–2024, the university’s 50th cohort, are scheduled from February 4 to 6, followed by the royal degree conferral ceremony from Feb. 11 to 13. A total of 17,794 graduates are expected to attend, which is likely to affect traffic conditions in the area.

The university said no private vehicles will be permitted to enter the campus under any circumstances and urged graduates and visitors to use public transportation and plan their travel in advance. Graduates must check in at the Kongkrailat Building during the assigned morning or afternoon periods, and those who do not attend the full rehearsal as scheduled will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

For those who need to use private vehicles, parking is available at The Mall Ramkhamhaeng, The Mall Bangkapi, Hua Mak Town Center, and The Nine Center Rama 9, subject to each facility’s rules. On ceremony days, the sale or deposit of flowers and gifts, photography services for hire, and other commercial activities will be prohibited, with flowers and gifts allowed only during rehearsal days. (NNT)
