
BANGKOK, Thailand – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi presided over the Public Relations Department’s 93rd anniversary celebration on April 30 in Bangkok, joined by executives and personnel ahead of its official anniversary on May 3.
Minister Supamas, during her speech, commended the PRD’s long-standing role in delivering government communication and its continued adaptation to changing media landscapes. The agency has expanded its outreach through platforms such as NBT Connext, OTT services, and a wider range of digital channels to meet evolving audience habits.
The PRD has also played a central leadership role during times of crisis, including natural disasters and major national events. Its responsibilities have included providing timely information, raising public awareness, and serving as a channel between the public and the government to help address emerging concerns.
During the ceremony, awards and certificates were presented to outstanding civil servants, exemplary personnel, provincial public relations offices, and regional Radio Thailand stations. Additional recognition went to recipients of national awards in news, television programming, and online media, as well as individuals who have supported the department’s work.
The PRD is preparing to enter its 94th year, with a vision to maximize its role in public communication. All related units are now working to ensure the department remains a reliable source of information for people across the country. (NNT)
