Positive results of anti-drugs operation in southern border provinces confirmed

Yala – The Fourth Army Region confirmed positive results of an anti-drugs operation in the southern border provinces, with the aim at returning children to families.

Fourth Army Region Commander Lt Gen Pornsak Poonsawat gave a press conference to announce the positive outcome of the operation which gave a top priority on such operations against drugs to eradicate the drug trafficking and return at least 10,000 children to their families.

The three-month operation was launched on 2 November 2018 with strict legal punishments against suspected drugs dealers, and social measures for users which allow them to voluntarily undergo rehabilitation programs.

The operation has been driven by joint operation centers in 37 southern districts, and has been constantly evaluated.

All operation centers have received 80% or higher evaluation scores for their operations from 1 November 2018 to 31 January 2019.
