The government aims to promote investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor, promote development in regional areas, roll out 5G mobile networks across the country, mitigate the drought and flooding disasters, and promote employment for new graduates, said Gen Prayut.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha emphasized the government’s plan to take the country forward, as part of his opening speech at the Better Thailand Open Dialogue.

At the opening ceremony of Better Thailand Open Dialogue, Gen Prayut said he decided to lead the administration seven years ago to establish peace and order, with the 20-year national strategic blueprint outlined for the security, prosperity, and sustainability of the country.

He said his elected government has been given the chance to pursue that national strategy. The government has made efforts to develop transportation infrastructure and improve connectivity with neighboring countries.

The government also aims to promote investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor, promote development in regional areas, roll out 5G mobile networks across the country, mitigate the drought and flooding disasters, and promote employment for new graduates.

The Prime Minister said the COVID-19 pandemic has been the biggest challenge faced by every country, including Thailand where a large amount of government funds has been spent to help affected people.

On the shortages of resources and higher costs of living due to the armed conflict in Ukraine, the Prime Minister said the government has provided assistance to the general public to help lower expenses. These measures include cooking gas discounts, fuel discounts for motorcycle taxi drivers, and a diesel price cap. (NNT)
