BANGKOK, 11 June 2012 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said Myanmar’s president Thein Sein confirmed his state visit to Thailand.
Following a meeting with the Strategic Committee for Water Resources Management today, the premier said that Myanmar is maintaining good relations with the kingdom despite a diplomatic hiccup. She also asserted President Thein Sein is still scheduled to visit Thailand.
Ms Yingluck elaborated that the date of an official visit is yet to be specified as both parties are discussing the logistics of the meeting.
The premier confirmed that the Thai government had earlier clarified to Myanmar’s ruling government regarding their Opposition Leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s visit to Thailand.
