PM Anutin honors Thai Doctors’ Day, calls medical workforce a pillar of national security

Speaking in a national address, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul praised doctors and medical personnel for their vital role during crises, from epidemics and natural disasters to border tensions, stressing that Thailand’s public health system is central to the nation’s security and long-term stability.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a national address on Thrusday morning (Nov 27) to honor doctors and medical personnel on Thai Doctors’ Day 2025. Speaking in his roles as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, he stressed the vital contributions of medical professionals who sustain the country’s public health system during emergencies and in everyday care.


Anutin acknowledged their service through epidemics, natural disasters, and other health crises, noting their technical skill, endurance, and readiness to assist communities nationwide. He also pointed to the role of medical teams in areas experiencing heightened border tensions, where their work supports both residents and national readiness.

The prime minister outlined the broad responsibilities of medical personnel, including treating the sick and injured, managing emergency referral systems, and providing psychological support to military personnel and civilians. These efforts help maintain the preparedness of frontline units while ensuring that people in affected areas continue to receive essential care and health guidance.



The premier made clear that the government views public health as a core element of national security, in both stable and challenging times, and expressed deep appreciation for doctors’ and medical teams’ integrity and ethics. He added that their work strengthens the country’s health security and supports long-term social and economic stability.
