Pattaya police received additional training for situations involving violence against women and children at a March 7 seminar.

Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Department official Somchai Sirorat led the workshop at the Pattaya Police Station that focused on cases of violence and laws specifically aimed at protecting women and children.

Thailand’s victims’ rights law was updated in 2007 to formalize cooperation between the department and social workers, police, courts, attorneys, medical professionals and shelters.
