BANGKOK, 4 November 2014 – The National Reform Council has spent more than 13 hours in the deliberation of its meeting regulations before resolving to pass the draft rules.

The NRC unanimously passed the third reading of all 143 regulations proposed by the drafting committee before midnight on Monday.

Chair of the session Bovornsak Uwanno has scheduled more meetings on Tuesday to discuss the setting up of 18 reform committees which will lead to their official endorsement — expected on November 11.

With the passing of the meeting regulations, NRC President Tienchai Kirananda will be able to endorse the appointment of 36 members of the constitutional drafting committee after the National Council for Peace and Order and the Cabinet each select five more members — scheduled to be completed before the end of Tuesday.
