A nationwide survey, conducted by the Department of Health, shows most people agree that schools should stay closed until teachers and students get their COVID-19 vaccinations.

According to the survey, conducted nationwide, 54.8% of respondents want schools and educational institutions to remain closed, while 40.5% did not. 66.2% of respondents in the North, however, wanted schools to reopen.

The new school term is scheduled to start on June 14th, except in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan provinces, where reopening has been delayed due to high infection rates.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has announced that all schools should refund tuition fees and fees for other services which they cannot deliver at this time. In the case where fees must be collected, payment deadlines should be extended or rates reduced. (NNT)
