Min of Energy to devise nation’s first comprehensive energy blueprint

BANGKOK, 5 June 2015 – The Ministry of Energy has held an energy seminar titled ‘Thailand Integrated Energy Blueprint’ (TIEB) for sustainable energy consumption in Thailand.

Representatives from more than 40 countries and 100 energy companies around the world have attended the seminar to share their perspective on energy consumption.

Permanent Secretary of Energy Thawarat Sutabutr revealed that the TIEB is aimed at developing a single energy blueprint, which incorporates all existing energy plans. These plans include those for capacity development, alternative energy, energy efficiency, and gas and oil projects.

Mr. Thawarat added that this is the first time Thailand has initiated a national energy strategy of this nature. The seminar is being held at the ‘Renewable Energy 2015’energy exhibition at BITEC Bangna. He believed the seminar will lead to energy security and sustainable energy consumption.
