
BANGKOK, Thailand – His Majesty King Rama X, Queen Suthida, and members of the royal family led a solemn procession to escort the royal body of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother from Chulalongkorn Hospital to the Grand Palace, as thousands of Thai citizens lined the streets to pay their final respects, October 26.
At 3:42 PM local time, King Rama X and Queen Suthida departed the Amphon Sathan Throne Hall at Dusit Palace in a royal motorcade, accompanied by Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, and Princess Sineenat Pilasakalyani. They traveled to the Bhumisirimangalanusorn Building at Chulalongkorn Hospital, where the royal body of the Queen Mother was prepared for transport.
The ceremony was attended by senior members of the royal family, including Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, and other high-ranking royals, who were present to honor the Queen Mother.
Leading the procession, Somdet Phra Maha Wirawong, Assistant Abbot of Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram, guided the royal escort as doctors and nurses carefully moved the royal bier into the lift and then onto the royal vehicle, at 4:26 PM. The royal cortege then departed Chulalongkorn Hospital and began the journey toward the Grand Palace.

The route followed Henri Dunant Road, turning onto Rama IV Road via Sam Yan Intersection, then to Phayathai Road, turning left onto Si Ayutthaya Road, passing the King Rama IX Park and Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram, before turning left onto Ratchadamnoen Nok, Klang, and Nai Roads, leading to the Grand Palace.
Thousands of Thais lined the streets along the route, bowing in respect and waving farewell to the Queen Mother, who was widely revered for her decades of service and devotion to the Thai people. The procession was conducted with solemnity and grace, reflecting the deep mourning of the nation.
This event marks a significant moment in Thailand’s history, as citizens and royals alike pay homage to a figure whose life embodied compassion, service, and dedication to the nation.
