UBON RATCHATHANI, Thailand – Immigration officers have arrested a 26-year-old Norwegian man wanted under an Interpol Red Notice after tracking him for 267 days while he remained in Thailand on an expired visa. Officers from Investigation Division 1 of the Immigration Bureau worked with Ubon Ratchathani Immigration to locate the man, identified as Mr. Lucad, a pseudonym, who was wanted in connection with allegations of repeated violence against family members.
Immigration records showed that the suspect had entered Thailand and overstayed his permitted period by 267 days. Investigators traced him to Chik Thoeng subdistrict in Tansum district, Ubon Ratchathani, where he had reportedly been living in a residential area. Officers eventually located him near a village and took him into custody.
He was initially charged with being a foreigner remaining in Thailand after his permission to stay had expired. He was handed over to Tansum Police Station for legal proceedings, with authorities expected to coordinate with relevant agencies over his eventual return to his home country. The arrest followed cooperation between international alert information and Thailand’s immigration entry-and-exit database, allowing officers to track the suspect despite his having moved to a remote area.
