Firefighters battled for over an hour to control a massive blaze at a two-story wooden house in Lopburi, injuring one resident but preventing damage to neighboring buildings.

LOPBURI, Thailand – A massive fire broke out yesterday evening, engulfing an old two-story wooden house and turning it into a roaring inferno. Nearly 20 fire trucks were deployed, and firefighters worked at full capacity for over an hour before finally bringing the blaze under control.

The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on October 17 at a closed-down car repair workshop on the Khlong Chonprathan–Khok Katiam Road in Talay Chubsorn Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District. According to Mrs. Chalo, 49, the wife of the workshop owner, she was alone at home when she heard a loud explosion from the ground floor. Rushing to investigate, she found the fire spreading rapidly. She managed to escape outside but suffered burns to her forehead and right wrist and was unable to salvage any belongings.

Officials noted that many of the items stored inside the workshop were highly flammable, which fueled the fire. Thanks to the rapid response of the emergency services, surrounding commercial buildings were spared from damage.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the blaze, and the estimated damage is still being assessed. Relief assistance has already been provided to the affected family. (TNA)
