From October 17–19, River Park at ICONSIAM dazzles with sacred Hindu rituals, Bollywood performances, Thai-Indian cultural markets, and Bangkok’s inaugural Diwali fireworks, while SOOKSIAM continues celebrations with henna, sarees, and Lakshmi Puja.

BANGKOK, Thailand – ICONSIAM, in collaboration with the Indian Association of Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Ministry of Culture, Bharat Choice, and Mittare Insurance, launched the “Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2025” on October 17. The grand opening was attended by senior officials, including Prime Minister’s Office Minister Santi Piyatat, TAT Deputy Governor Nat Kruthasoot, and representatives from the Indian Embassy and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Held at River Park along the Chao Phraya River until October 19, the festival drew large crowds who gathered to experience sacred Hindu rituals and vibrant cultural performances. Key events included the Sacred Pooja and Grand Diya Ceremonies, Bollywood dance showcases, and a Thai-Indian youth talent show. Visitors also enjoyed browsing the Thai-Indian Cultural Market, sampling dishes at the Indian Food Pavilion, and taking part in a Sikh turban-tying activity.

One of the festival’s most striking moments was Bangkok’s first-ever Diwali fireworks display over the Chao Phraya River, held shortly after the opening ceremony. The night continued with a Thai-Bollywood fusion concert featuring rapper F.HERO. The program resumes this evening, October 18, with DJ duo the Jaipuri Brothers performing Sufi-inspired music, followed by a grand finale concert by the RAABTA GROUP on Sunday, October 19.

SOOKSIAM, located on ICONSIAM’s G Floor, has been celebrating alongside its “Happy Indian Festival of Lights” since October 11. The ongoing activities include traditional Indian performances, henna art, saree photo booths, and the Lakshmi Puja Ceremony at the SookSuwanna Shrine. (NNT)
