BANGKOK – The weather bureau says Thailand can expect heavy rain in many areas in the next 24 hours. The Thai Meteorological Department has warned the public to be wary of the severe conditions.
In the next 24 hours, a moderate southwest monsoon will prevail across the Andaman Sea and southern Thailand, while a low-pressure cell will cover the northern part of neighboring Laos. Heavy rain is forecast for the Northeast, the East and the Southwest regions of Thailand. The public should be aware of dangers, especially car accidents due to flooded roads.
The southern part on the country along the Andaman coast can expect waves 1-2 meters high and averaging about 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. Fishermen are advised to check the forecast prior to leaving the dock. (NNT)
