Massive crowds fill the streets of Hat Yai during the Hatyai Midnight Songkran 2026 festival, as more than 500,000 visitors—many from Malaysia—join four days of late-night water celebrations, highlighting the city’s growing status as a major international tourism hub in southern Thailand.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Hatyai Midnight Songkran 2026 festival concluded successfully after four days of celebrations from April 10–13. The event saw a massive influx of domestic and international tourists, particularly from neighboring Malaysia, with total attendance exceeding 500,000 people.


​This year’s success was made possible by strong collaboration between Hatyai City Municipality and key partners, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai AirAsia, Haad Thip Public Company Limited, and local security agencies. Regional entrepreneurs also played a vital role in maximizing the event’s potential and ensuring a seamless experience for visitors.
