BANGKOK, Thailand – ICONSIAM, the world-class landmark on the Chao Phraya River, has collaborated with public and private partners, including the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), to host “ICONSIAM THAICONIC SONGKRAN 2026.” The event aims to elevate the Thai Songkran tradition into a premier global festival while honoring its UNESCO status as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
On the fourth day, domestic and international tourists surged to participate in water festivities at River Park. A major highlight was the grand Songkran procession featuring the popular girl group “4EVE.” Members Hannah, Aheye, Taom, Punch, Fai, Mind, and Jorin portrayed the 2026 Songkran Goddess Raksasa Devi, wearing exquisite Haute Couture contemporary Thai attire.
In addition to the water festivities, the event offers spiritual and cultural immersion. Visitors can take part in bathing rituals for sacred artifacts, including the 700-year-old “Luang Phor Ngern” Buddha image. The celebration also features authentic Thai cuisine from four regions and live entertainment, including mini-concerts and special performances by various artists.
The “ICONSIAM THAICONIC SONGKRAN 2026” festival runs through April 15, offering a multi-dimensional experience through the “4 THAICONIC” concepts: Water Festival, Entertainment, Heritage, and Blessed Beginnings. This large-scale celebration reinforces ICONSIAM’s status as a global experiential destination and showcases Thailand’s soft power to the world. (NNT)
