Fourth Army Region Commander honors fallen soldier as remains return to Narathiwat

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Fourth Army Region Commander presided over a ceremony to receive the remains of a fallen soldier who lost his life during clashes along the Thailand–Cambodia border, before their return to his hometown in Narathiwat Province.

The incident occurred on 13 December 2025 at approximately 10:00 a.m. in Chong An Ma, Dom Pradit Subdistrict, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, during Royal Thai Army operations. The opposing side reportedly used heavy weapons and indirect fire, injuring three soldiers and killing four others, including Volunteer Soldier Mustakim Majehma of the Assault Battalion under the Special Warfare Command.



On 14 December 2025 at 1:45 p.m., Lieutenant General Norathip Phoyanok, Commander of the Fourth Army Region and Director of Internal Security Operations Command Area 4, led senior officers in a ceremony at Narathiwat Airport to honor and receive the remains of Volunteer Soldier Mustakim, who gave his life protecting Thailand’s sovereignty. Provincial officials, local leaders, and members of the public also attended.


Volunteer Soldier Mustakim Majehma, 21, served with the Assault Battalion of the 3rd Special Warfare Regiment. A native of Chanae District, Narathiwat Province, he enlisted with the intention of supporting his family and serving the country. The report also noted his prior operational duty in the Phu Ma Khuea area, Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province, during 20–28 July 2025.

His remains were returned to Narathiwat for Islamic funeral rites to be held at the family cemetery in Dusongyo Subdistrict of Chanae District. (NNT)
