BANGKOK, 26 May 2014 – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Chief, General Prayuth Chan-ocha ordered Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra to be permitted to leave on May 25th, after she was earlier detained at an undisclosed military camp in Bangkok.

General Prayuth has also ordered the release of several detainees from the Pheu Thai Party after the Army summoned several key leaders from both sides of the political arena when it seized power in a coup on May 22nd.

However, those leaders who have arrest warrants issued against them, will still be placed in military custody to await prosecution.
