‘Enhancing Security Cooperation in and with Asia (ESIWA)’ project meeting

The meeting discussed the existing and future activities under the second phase of the ESIWA project (ESIWA+) with the aim of promoting security cooperation between Thailand and the European Union.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Duputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, on 6 November, discussed with the delegation of Enhancing Security Cooperation in and with Asia (ESIWA) project led by Ms. Anne Giudicelli, Head of Expertise France’s Global Threats’ Unit and Mr. Pierre Mayaudon, ESIWA Co-Director, together with the delegation of the European Union to Thailand. The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Office of the National Security Council, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice, Royal Thai Police, Immigration Bureau and Anti-Money Laundering Office.



The meeting discussed the existing and future activities under the second phase of the ESIWA project (ESIWA+) with the aim of promoting security cooperation between Thailand and the European Union. The possibilities of deepening cooperation on the issues of cybercrime, transnational crime, transboundary threats, crisis management, border management and hybrid threats were being explored. (MFA)
