BANGKOK, Thailand – The Election Commission of Thailand reminds over 2.4 million registered advance voters to cast their ballots only on their registered date. Changes to the voting date are not allowed.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission Phasakorn Siriphakayaporn stated that February 1, 2026, is designated for advance voting in the House of Representatives election. Over 2.4 million voters registered, including 8,610 in-constituency voters, 2,261,384 out-of-constituency voters, 1,666 voters with disabilities, and 138,810 overseas voters. Polling centers have been set up, with 521 in-constituency sites, 524 out-of-constituency sites, 22 sites for voters with disabilities, and 95 overseas locations in 64 countries.

The ECT has coordinated with relevant agencies to manage operations, especially in Bangkok, where registration is high in districts like Bang Kapi and Chatuchak. Venues have been adjusted to better accommodate voters.

The Deputy Secretary-General emphasized that advance voters must vote on February 1, 2026, for Members of the House of Representatives, and on February 8, 2026, for the referendum. Those registered for advance voting cannot vote for MPs on the main election day. Voters unable to participate must notify the district or local registrars, or submit a notice via the ECT’s Smart Vote application or the Central Registration Office’s online system, within seven days before or after election day (February 1–7, 2026, or February 9–15, 2026) to avoid restrictions on political rights.

Ballots cast on February 1, 2026, will be secured after polls close at 5 P.M. In-constituency ballots will remain with district offices. Out-of-constituency and overseas ballots will be delivered by Thailand Post to the relevant constituencies for counting after polls close on February 8, 2026. All overseas ballots are expected to arrive in Thailand by February 5, 2026.

The EC urges the public to report any irregularities at polling stations, district EC offices, or by calling the EC hotline at 1444. (NNT)
