NARATHIWAT, Thailand – The Commerce Ministry is monitoring the rollout of its “Thais Help Thais” program in the southern border provinces to reduce expenses and maintain stable access to essential goods for the public.

Sub Lt Chakra Yodmani, deputy permanent secretary for Commerce, led an inspection visit to Narathiwat with senior officials to review prices, supply levels, and progress in implementation. The program involves cooperation with manufacturers and retailers to provide more affordable alternatives, including house brands and secondary product lines.

Visits to retail outlets in Narathiwat’s capital district found strong participation from businesses, with discounted products and stable pricing for key goods. Authorities reported that supplies remain adequate, supported by regular restocking to meet demand.

Provincial commerce offices nationwide have been instructed to continue monitoring prices and distribution to ensure access across all areas, including remote communities. The ministry is also expanding support for small and community-based producers by increasing their presence in retail outlets and on online platforms, while addressing broader economic pressures that affect consumer prices.
