Developed with support from the NRCT, CIBbot helps users access legal guidance, identify the correct investigative agency, and prepare police reports through the CIB website.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), in cooperation with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), has launched CIBbot, an artificial intelligence chatbot that provides legal consultations, accepts complaints, and offers crime-prevention information 24 hours a day. The system functions as a virtual legal adviser, drawing on information and expertise from specialists and legal authorities within the CIB. This covers cases ranging from assault, theft, and robbery to more complex offenses, including cybercrime, human trafficking, and economic crimes.

CIBbot also helps users determine which agency has investigative jurisdiction over specific cases and provides guidance on preparing to file police reports, including required documents and preliminary statements. The platform helps make legal information and access to justice more convenient and efficient. The launch ceremony was co-chaired by Pol. Maj. Gen. Phutthidet Boonkraphue, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, and Dr. Wiparat De-ong, executive director of the NRCT. Developed with research support since 2022, the chatbot, which uses a curated database taken from verified, traceable sources, is now available on the CIB website (CIB.go.th). (NNT)
