CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Chiang Mai province is stepping up efforts to attract more tourists during the green season with a lineup of events aimed at boosting the local economy and supporting year-round tourism. At a recent press conference held at MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center, officials introduced the Chiang Mai Grand Sale 2025, Lanna Expo 2025, and Chiang Mai Halal Food Festival 2025, each aimed at attracting both domestic and international visitors in the second half of the year.
To ensure a safe experience for residents and tourists alike, Governor Nirun Phongsitthithawon has mobilized administrative volunteers to assist local police with increased patrols in high-traffic areas and popular attractions. The added presence is intended to enhance Chiang Mai’s reputation as a secure and welcoming destination.
The Chiang Mai Grand Sale 2025 will take place from July 15 to September 30, offering exclusive discounts on flights, hotels, restaurants, spas, car rentals, retail outlets, and tourist attractions. Organized in collaboration with public and private tourism partners, the campaign is expected to help increase travel during the rainy season.
Additional events include the Chiang Mai Halal Food Festival, which runs through July, promoting culinary variety and drawing a broader range of visitors, including Muslim travelers. The Lanna Expo 2025, set for July 22 to 28, will spotlight local art, crafts, and cultural products, creating new opportunities for small businesses and artisans.
