SUPHANBURI, 19 Jan 2015,  – The ongoing constitution-drafting process is going in the right direction, says Constitution Drafting Committee’s Sub-committee on the Public Hearing Chief, Tawilwadee Burikun.

The comment came after a public hearing on the constitution drafting, held in Suphanburi Province at Songphanburi Hotel.

According to her, all suggestions made during the hearing have been recorded and will be forwarded to the Constitution Drafting Committee later on.

She also said this seminar has made her realize that the charter-drafting process is going in the right direction, as it coincides with the residents’ suggestions.

During the meeting, residents suggested that the new charter include the vetting of MP candidate qualifications in order to prevent them from lining their pockets through political means. They also suggested that information pertaining to all and any procurement be opened for public scrutiny. Other opinions included instilling the sense of moral values into people, and actually punishing all wrongdoers.
