BANGKOK, 29 March 2014 The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) is keeping a close watch on today’s mass demonstrations in Bangkok by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

PDRC protesters are taking to streets in mass rallies in an attempt to topple Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her cabinet ahead of the Senatorial election which is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, March 30th.

A number of roads and street venues in central Bangkok are occupied by PDRC demonstrators. Commuters are advised to take detours and avoid all protest sites.

Meanwhile, the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) is closely assessing the situation as both police and military men have been deployed in various locations to ensure safety for all sides.

CAPO says everyone has the right to express themselves freely as long as their actions are in accordance with the law and constitution. CAPO is urging the protesters to respect the rights of others as well.
