Big Mountain Music Festival organisers face legal action for violation of closure order

The Big Mountain Music Festival organizers may face a jail term of up to one year and a fine of up to 100,000 baht for violating the closure order Sunday night and were considered as breaking the Disease Control Act.

The organizers of the Big Mountain Music Festival face legal action for disobeying a closure order from the disease control committee of Nakhon Ratchasima province.



Nakhon Ratchasima police chief Pol Maj Gen Pornchai Nonwachai said the organizers of the music festival violated the closure order Sunday night and were considered as breaking the Disease Control Act.

The provincial police commander ordered the chief of the Pak Chong police station to prosecute the organizers. The law violation carries a jail term of up to one year and a fine of up to 100,000 baht.

Nakhon Ratchasima police chief Pol Maj Gen Pornchai Nonwachai said the organizers of the music festival violated the closure order last night and were considered as breaking the Disease Control Act.


Police would question administrative and public health officials and the concert organizers and lay charges against the organizers, Pol Maj Gen Pornchai said.

The organizers informed police that they would cooperate and enter the justice system, he said.

The Big Mountain Music Festival ended at 10 am not at 2am as on the first night of the event.
