The Chatuchak weekend market in Bangkok reopened on Saturday with not so big crowd. Market goers and vendors were urged to follow strict measures.

The Chatuchak weekend market reopened Saturday. Vendors arrived in the morning but the place was not crowded.



The City Market Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration allowed the Chatuchak weekend market to reopen and sell all kinds of its regular products from 5am to 6pm. Vendors showed up there in early morning but the atmosphere was not so hectic.

The City Market Office imposed strict measures to control the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) there. Vendors and buyers must have their body temperatures checked, wear face masks, wash their hands with alcohol gel and keep distances from each other for at least 1-2 meters. Vendors must also give detailed information about their shops

Food shops there must have customers’ seats placed 1.5 meters apart from each other. A table for two customers must have a partition. Besides, officials were ordered to clean facilities at the market every two hours including public toilets, seats and ATMs. (TNA)
