BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is preparing to turn the Chao Phraya River into a glittering stage for Vijit Chao Phraya 2025, a 45-day festival of light, sound, and creativity designed to enchant visitors from around the world.
Set to run from November 1 to December 15, the event will illuminate both banks of the river with spectacular light shows, projection mapping, cultural performances, and fireworks — drawing travelers eager to experience Bangkok’s night-time magic.
Following a high-level coordination meeting on September 26, TAT confirmed that extensive planning is underway with key public and private partners, including the Royal Thai Navy, Marine Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and major riverside venues like ICONSIAM and ASIATIQUE The Riverfront. Authorities are focusing on safety, crowd management, and river traffic control to ensure a seamless experience for visitors.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the agency expects the festival to attract at least 1.5 million visitors and generate over 500 million baht in tourism revenue. “This is not just a festival — it’s an opportunity to showcase Bangkok as one of the world’s most captivating river cities,” she said.
The festival’s strategy includes creative promotional campaigns, special hotel and river cruise packages, and photo and video contests to encourage tourists to capture and share the city’s vibrant beauty.
Organizers describe Vijit Chao Phraya 2025 as more than a light show — it’s a celebration of Thai culture, innovation, and hospitality, reflecting Bangkok’s growing appeal among global travelers.
