The iconic Khao San Road in Bangkok came alive with the vibrant celebrations of the Songkran water festival on April 13. Tourists gradually flocked to join the festivities, marking the commencement of the Khao San World Water Festival UNESCO 2024.

Pol. Col. Sanong Saengmanee, Superintendent of Chanasongkram Police Station, led a thorough inspection of various checkpoints to ensure safety and security throughout the area. Roads were closed off, and stringent measures were implemented to direct the flow of both local revelers and international tourists, guaranteeing a safe and enjoyable experience amidst the water splashing revelry.

Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, an incident arose where a lost Japanese child, accompanied by his mother, was discovered near Tanao Road. Authorities promptly initiated efforts to reunite the child with his parents, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols during such bustling events.

The Khao San World Water Festival UNESCO 2024 featured a plethora of water-based activities along Khao San Road, complemented by an array of food stalls, pubs, bars, and street food vendors lining the route. Security measures were heightened this year, incorporating advanced AI technology for facial recognition scans and vehicle registration monitoring to uphold safety standards and deter criminal activities.

As the festivities continued, the focus remained on maintaining a joyful and secure environment, with strict regulations in place to govern water usage and behavior, ensuring a memorable and incident-free celebration of Songkran on Khao San Road, April 13-15. (TNA)
