
BANGKOK, Thailand – Ten passengers were injured after a blue air-conditioned bus crashed onto a sidewalk and struck an electrical control box and roadside tree on Lat Phrao Road early Saturday morning. The accident was reported at around 7am on July 11 near Lat Phrao Soi 112 in Phlapphla Subdistrict, Wang Thonglang District. Emergency crews from Lat Phrao Fire Station and Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving a report through the 199 emergency hotline.
The crash occurred on a three-lane section of Lat Phrao Road. The blue air-conditioned bus, registered as 16-2311 Bangkok, was found with severe front-end damage and cracked windows after mounting the sidewalk and hitting an electrical control cabinet and a roadside tree, which was broken in the impact. Traffic in the area was affected as vehicles were forced to slow down while authorities worked at the scene. Rescue workers assisted passengers trapped inside the bus. Ten people, including eight women and two men, were injured and taken to Petcharavej Hospital and Ladprao Hospital for treatment. Authorities are now removing the damaged bus from the area and investigating the cause of the crash.
