Bangkok bomb suspects give resourceful attestation

BANGKOK, 8 September 2015 (NNT) – The apprehended bomb suspect has provided useful attestation towards the culprits behind the bombing incidents in Bangkok, the NCPO Spokesman says.

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Spokesman Col Winthai Suwaree has revealed the investigation progress of the bombing incidents in Bangkok on a national TV broadcast, that the captured suspects are now being sent to the police, after being held in custody by the security unit.

He said the first captured suspect, Adem Karadag, will be detained by the police for further legal prosecution, and is currently being held in prison for an initial 12 days according to the Minburi Provincial Court’s decree. The second suspect, Yusufu Mieraili is now being held in custody by security forces, and will be later sent to the police.

The NCPO Spokesman has said that both suspects and other witnesses have provided resourceful attestations and testimonies on the masterminds, which includes both Thai and foreign nationals, responsible for the bombing incidents at Ratchaprasong Intersection and Sathorn Pier.

He said that the appropriate detail of the investigation will be announced by the Royal Thai Police, while the overall situation in Bangkok and other provinces in Thailand has returned to normal with many international tourists deciding to continue their stay in Thailand as planned.

On the subsidies for the injured and casualties, 10.78 billion baht worth of reimbursement has been given to the injured persons and the family of the casualties. 23 people are still being treated in 11 hospitals.

The NCPO Spokesman said that it was the culmination of officials’ work and the cooperative efforts from the general public that had helped the situation to return to normal conditions within a short period of time.
