BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, inspected the scene of a fire at Klong Thom Center on August 29. Prime Minister Anutin announced that the fire was under control and that officials would continue spraying water to prevent further outbreaks. He urged the public to avoid the area and wear masks to protect against hazardous smoke.
The Prime Minister stated that nearby buildings were not significantly damaged. He reported that the injured were no longer in critical condition and commended Governor Chadchart for leading the response. Regarding the undamaged goods, the Prime Minister said he would order the police to keep a close watch on them to prevent theft.
The Prime Minister expressed support for those affected and reaffirmed that the government would enhance relief measures and coordinate with relevant sectors to provide compensation. Furthermore, Governor Chadchart stated that affected individuals could file a report at the one-stop service center at Wat Phra Phiren Temple. They would receive partial compensation after the inspection and relevant procedures had been completed in accordance with official relief regulations. (NNT)
