Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi inspects beauty-service businesses in Udon Thani, checking licenses, safety standards and customer contracts to strengthen consumer protection.

UDON THANI, Thailand – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi has led an inspection of beauty-service businesses at Central Plaza Udon Thani on August 28, 2026, to enhance consumer protection, service safety, and contract standards. Ministerial Adviser Pradermchai Boonchuayluea, OCPB Secretary-General Ronnarong Phoolpipat, and officials from provincial health, administrative, municipal, and police agencies accompanied the Minister on her visit. Authorities reviewed operating licenses, service standards, product and medical-device safety, and customer contracts. Supamas stated that the government aims to prevent consumer harm by ensuring that customers receive clear information about services, costs, and rights before making a payment.

The Minister explained that regulations require beauty-service businesses to provide customers with contracts that clearly outline services, costs, and essential conditions. These regulations were introduced in 2025 and amended in 2026. Customers who have not used any services may cancel within seven days of payment for a full refund. Proportional refunds are available if the business closes, relocates, or cannot provide the agreed-upon service, or if medical evidence indicates that continued treatment may harm the customer’s health. Refunds by cash, transfer, or check must be completed within 15 days; credit-card refunds must be processed within 45 days of cancellation.

Officials collected contracts for further review and will request additional information from operators. Failure to issue or provide a compliant contract may result in up to one year’s imprisonment, a fine of up to 200,000 baht, or both. Consumers should verify licenses, product registration, contracts, and costs, and keep payment records. Complaints can be submitted via the OCPB hotline at 1166, OCPB Connect, www.ocpb.go.th, or at Damrongdhama Centers nationwide. (NNT)
