NEW YORK, USA – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is using his visit to New York for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) to promote Thailand’s economic potential and reinforce international confidence in the country. After attending the General Debate at UN Headquarters on September 22, Anutin detailed plans to meet world leaders, business councils, private-sector representatives, and international investors during his three-day stay.
The prime minister plans to present Thailand as a reliable partner with the infrastructure and capabilities to serve as a regional manufacturing and distribution hub. His meetings will promote the country’s readiness for further international investment and economic cooperation while keeping Thailand visible among global leaders and investors.
Anutin is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 24, where he will present his vision for Thailand’s future and its potential to become a regional center for trade and economic activity within ASEAN. His statement will also cover the country’s response to emerging global rules and a changing international environment, as well as its preparations for the energy transition.
The premier will also address Thailand’s efforts to advance its accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The government expects membership to enhance the country’s international standing and deepen cooperation with global partners, while supporting the country’s adaptation to changes in trade, investment, energy, and the global economy.
