BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul announced that the Thais Help Thais Plus economic stimulus project will be submitted to the Cabinet in May 2026, allowing for an official launch in June as scheduled.
The Prime Minister said that, as a successor to the previous “Half-Half” co-payment policy, this new iteration was initially designed as a quick-win measure to boost the economy but was delayed by the earlier dissolution of Parliament.
The Prime Minister explained that the government has revised the program to address current global challenges, particularly rising living costs related to tensions in the Middle East. Unlike the previous 50:50 co-payment model, this version offers direct government assistance to increase liquidity and stimulate spending. The project’s duration has also been extended from two to four months to provide more sustained support.
Participants will receive 1,000 THB per month, totaling 4,000 THB per person, a higher level of support than in previous programs. The Prime Minister noted that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas will oversee the registration process and related operational details.
The Prime Minister affirmed his full support for coalition party policies and emphasized that clear communication from relevant ministers will ensure efficient program implementation. (NNT)
